Angelina McIntire was an incredible friend and advocate for patients and families across the country. Most importantly she was one of the more inspiring human beings I've met, and her legacy lives on through many.
- Michael Sapienza, Chief Executive Officer, Colorectal Cancer Alliance
We lost our classmate and dear friend Angelina McIntire to colon cancer in May 2020 in the midst of this pandemic, but we are never going to stop supporting the cause that meant so much to her.

She was a top fundraiser for the DC Chapter of the Colorectal Cancer Alliance (CCA), serving as a passionate advocate on the Never Too Young Advisory Board and raising thousands for programs dedicated to research and patient/caregiver support. She embodied her life motto to "be where your feet are" until the very end, inspiring her friends to do the same and make the most of every day in her honor.
We are getting ready for the CCA 2021 Scope it Out Virtual event on March 28th and would love the support of our JMHS Warhawks, in memory of Angelina. Nothing would make her happier than her legacy continuing on to support others impacted by cancer. Check out Team Angelina Awesome Fundraising Page for the Colorectal Cancer Alliance.
Fellow classmates Tara Swaminatha, Jean Garris Hand, Sharon Safran Burger and Marjorie Adamson Lee are all members of Team Angelina and will be walking virtually with Colorectal Cancer Alliance. Many other classmates have donated to the team too! We appreciate the class coming together, especially appropriate since Angelina was a master social coordinator among us!
